50¢ Black Box Mystery Reprint
This reprint has a cover similar to the 1988 50th Anniversary reprints, except it has no UPC box, and the 50¢ price box has its colours inverted. White text with a black background. Similarly priced at 50¢, 70¢ Canada and 30p United Kingdom.
Twenty pages with covers. Glossy covers and newsprint interior. The front and back cover are blank, with no indicia in the comic.
The only copyright information found is under the three ads on the last three pages. Ad one is for The Flash TV Special #1 comic book, extolling the “two brand new action-packed adventures set in the television continuity.” This ad has a copyright of 1991. The second ad is for the Batman Full Circle storyline, a “riveting sequel to Batman Year Two” with a 1991 copyright. The final ad is for The Greatest Flash, tories Ever Told hardcover, which states it’s “available in December” and has a copyright of 1990. So we have to surmise that this comic was bundled with a trade paperback or hardcover or handed out at comic shops around 1991.
