World Without a Superman Special & Complete Collector’s Sets (with 10¢ Cover Price)
The comic came in two World Without a Superman trade paperback bundles.
A Special Collector’s Set with the World Without a Superman trade paperback, a fourth print of the Superman (1987) #75 comic book and a 17″ x 22″ poster. Inside the shrinkwrap was a black card with a $5.33 cover price and a UPC of 070989323834.
And a Complete Collector’s Set with the World Without a Superman trade paperback, the Death of Superman trade paperback, a fourth print of the Superman (1987) #75 comic book and a 17″ x 22″ poster. Inside the shrinkwrap was a black card with a $7.99 cover price and a UPC of 070989324039.
Searching up those UPC codes indicates these sets were released in 1993.
Inside front and back covers are blank. The rear cover is the 1983 Joe Shuster pin-up found in other reprints without Joe’s “signature” or date. Contains a full-page ad for Steve Rude’s World’s Finest trade paperback, a full-page ad for Batman versus Predator and a full-page ad for the World Without a Superman/Funeral for a Friend storyline and checklist. It appears to be the identical reprint as the Doomsday “Death of Superman” TPB set but with a 10¢ cover price.
Additionally. this reprint has been spotted in “20 DC Comics Collector’s Pack”, from April 1993. The UPC code on the little paper label was 070989323858. I don’t have this pack to confirm yet.
